CRAZY 8′S- 8.5 slicks- May have Mickey Thompson (3052) or Hoosier (18115C11) 26×8.5×15 only.
Aimed at being the most economical and grass roots heads-up class for passenger cars and trucks from 1940 to present.
Runs 1/8 mile, heads up on .4T tree.
Class is designed for small block and big block with single stage plate systems, and naturally aspirated big blocks.
SMALL BLOCKS-MOTORS-POWER ADDERS
Small blocks are allowed any single stage production plate system including crossbar and diffuser style (no custom design plates) Must have one fuel and nitrous solenoid max on carb applications. EFI allowed. 2 nozzles for N20. Foggers can be installed on car but must be capped before tech.
May have an inline single solenoid purge which must exit above the hood.
Must run a single 12″ or greater -4 nitrous feed line from N20 solenoid. Nano or other pressure regulating systems are allowed. Only a single N20 bottle may be mounted.
Aftermarket blocks and heads allowed.
No sheet metal intakes allowed, only cast commercially available intakes allowed.
Motor must be in factory location, must not touch unmodified firewall.
Nitrous controllers allowed.
Small blocks with more than 440 ci will run under big block rules.
All Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Cadillac, AMC will run under small block rules w/max 500ci.
FUEL – Any race gasoline permitted – NO Nitro or propelyne oxide allowed. Alcohol only allowed with naturally aspirated motors.
FORCED INDUCTION (Small block only)
TURBOs 88mm MAX/F1R BLOWERS OR EQUIVALENT, INLET SIZE 3.750 AT COLLAR.
Any intercooler allowed.
BIG BLOCKS-N20
Stock bore space and conventional heads only aftermarket blocks ok
Any single carb only no sheetmetal intakes commercially cast only
Single bar jet plates only with 1 n20 and 1 fuel solenoid with .082 jet max.
May have an inline single solenoid purge which must exit above the hood.
Must run a single 12″ or greater -4 nitrous feed line from N20 solenoid. Nano or other pressure regulating systems are allowed. Only a single N20 bottle may be mounted.
Foggers must be capped.
(No crossbar, diffuser, multijet plate allowed for BB)
Motor must be in factory location, must not touch unmodified firewall.
Nitrous controllers allowed.
(Max jet size can be changed before any race if deemed necessary for parity).
BIG BLOCKS-MOTOR
Must be naturally aspirated.
Any BB single carb NO 5.3 bore space
Forward facing hood scoops allowed NA only.
Alcohol allowed.
No sheet metal intakes, only cast, commercially available
ELECTRONICS
Any ignition or efi system except NO 7531 ignition or 7761 power grid slew rate control module or any other slew rate controller period. No Davis traction control or similar devices allowed.
TRANSMISSION – any automatic or manual transmission allowed.
BODY – SUSPENSION
Must have factory front frame stubs to rear of back seat.
Must have factory firewall in factory location.
Must have OEM front windshield, drivers window, and passenger window must roll up in factory manner.
Interior must have upholstered door panels, factory style carpet required.
Front passenger seating may be omitted/
Factory style dash required. Fiberglass or replica ok.
Ladder bars – 4 links allowed. Torque arms allowed.
Must have working headlights and tail lights
Only allowed aftermarket fiberglass panels, hood, deck lid, bumpers.
May remove back seat.
Aftermarket control arms allowed.
Control arms/K members/Shocks/Struts must mount in factory location.
Rack and pinion conversions okay.
A working 12 volt charging system required – NO 16 volt systems.
Mufflers required. 3.5 diameter tubing and mufflers allowed. Exhaust must run beyond driver’s seat – Not required for turbos.
To receive points you must be a VAMP member and enter vehicle that passes rules above and can only have tires listed at top on it.
PARITY – VAMP OFFICIALS MAY IMPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO ANY PARTICIPANT DISPLAYING ADVANTAGEOUS PERFORMANCE.
LEGALITY OF ANY CAR IS THE DECISION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR.
